At the 75th Anniversary Banquet May 30, 2010 a number of awards were announced. The winners were selected by members of the theatre just as the Oscar’s or the Tony’s are voted on by the members of their respective organizations.

June 12 & 13, 2010 the Northwest Region of OCTA (Ohio Community Theatre Association) held its annual regionalcompetition hosted by Fort Findlay Playhouse at the University of Findlay. Fourteen theatres from all over Northwest & West Central Ohio presented short excerpts from a show produced during this past year’s season.
Selected to represent the Northwest Region this year at the State Conference in Columbus on Labor Day Weekend were:

The first 4 shows will represent the Northwest Region at the state conference. Encore Theatre was well represented with an excerpt from Bus Stop which included two award winning performances. Rich Minick was recognized with a Merit in Acting Award for his portrayal of Virgil Blessing and Jon Hodges received an Excellence in Acting Award for his role as Dr. Gerald Lyman. Congratulations to these two gentleman and the entire cast & crew for a job well done!

We are also saying goodbye to Rich Minick and his wife Ruth (last seen in this season’s productions of Dearly Beloved & It’s a Wonderful Life) as they are moving to Arkansas. Good luck and the best of wishes to the both of them!
